Shredder Tattoo!

I posted Justin’s TMNT sleeve awhile back, but he got back to me with a picture of the Shredder side of his piece. Just wanted to share this with you. Carry on.

Helfuckingvetica Tattoo

Just getting a Helvetica tattoo wasn’t enough for Anton. He had to emphasize the awesomeness of the font by dropping an f-bomb in there! And of course like any good geek, he registered the domain for his tattoo: http://helfuckingvetica.com/.

Oddly enough, Anton isn’t one of those hardcore design geeks. He tags himself as a software engineer who’s working on a super-secret startup in Sweden called BitShape. If you’re wondering what the tattoo on his other arm is, it’s the BitShape logo.

Andrea’s Awesome Android Art, R2D2 Tattoo

Andrea sent in some pics of her awesome R2D2 chest piece tattoo. Love it!

I wonder if she knows Anna.

Marcus Aday (auto-play sound) is responsible for inking this piece.

Doctor Zoidberg Riding a Sperm

Everybody loves the Wolverine Riding My Little Pony tattoo and this one is of similar composition. Instead of Wolverine’s bad-ass-ness, insert the geeky Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama, then replace the childish My Little Pony with a pre-childhood sperm. You’ll end up with the tattoo that Matt has on his right calf. He says this is his first tattoo, and he didn’t explain the reasoning behind his choice, so I guess that means it’s up to you guys to figure it out.

For the record, in the episode “Parasites Lost”, Dr Zoidberg actually does ride one of Fry’s sperms

Hardcore Librarian

Librarian Tattoo

Some people take their job seriously. Jason Puckett is one of those people. In addition to sporting the geeky ink you see above, he’s the “Librarian for Communication and Educational Technologies at GSU” and keeps a blog/podcast about libraries, teaching and technology over at jasonpuckett.net.

His ink was done by Ron Hendon of Midnight Iguana Tattooing, Athens GA.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Tattoos!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sleeve

Turtles on a half-sleeve! Check out this rad Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles half-sleeve tattoo that Justin got done by Troy at Sacred-X-Pressions. He says he has Shredder on the other side, so I’m not sure whether he supports the Turtles or is secretly a part of the Foot Clan. If my VCR suddenly goes missing, I guess I’ll know.

Marcus likes space ships

Enterprise
Galactica

Marcus sends in his two spaceship tattoos: the Enterprise and the Galactica. Each ship has claimed one of his thighs, and for Marcus’s sake I hope they never decide to exchange fire.

Speaking of spaceships, who’s going to get a tattoo of Virgin’s SpaceShip2?

FeAr NOT lIFe

FeArNOTlIFe

I’ve posted periodic table tattoos before, but this one is a bit different. Rather than get the whole table, Frankie decided to get a few choice elements that spell out “Fear Not Life”. He writes:

I’m working towards a degree in Forensic Science with a Bio Option so science will pretty much be a major part in the rest of my life. I designed this Bio/Chem combo because it represented something I really believe in. When you read the element sequence (Iron, Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Thallium, Iodine, Iron), it says “Fear Not Life”. Thats what I think science is all about – not being afraid to dig deeper and find the beautiful complexity of life and maybe stir things up a bit…. It’s my personal reminder of why I love science so much to get me through all the rough courses.

Anyone else out there used elements from the periodic table to spell out a word or phrase on their skin?
