This one is for the hardcore CompSci geeks out there. JohnS shows off his impeccably done Wolfram 2-state 3-color Turing machine. Lissa at Sacred Heart Tattoo was the one with the steady hand that inked such a beautiful geeky thing.

Did JohnS include any explanation of that state machine at the top? I'm not familiar with the notation, I sort of wonder if he invented it. It's clearly the same (2, 3) machine on the Wikipedia page, but I can't work out how to translate the notation.
Awesome tattoo, JohnS! It is amazing how precise it is…
Hi PeterH, I invented the notation. The notation is one of two possible notations you can see in "Rule icon" pod at http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Wolfram+2%2C…. You might be more familiar with the other notation. If you want to know more about this functionality, you can see my original blog post here: http://blog.wolframalpha.com/2010/05/06/tinkering…
Hi John S — I stumbled on your beautiful tattoo as I was working on preparation for a symposium on the TURING centennial celebration at the UCLA Art Sci center. Would you give permission to use it and make this body work famous? Please let me know ASAP.
Best, Victoria Vesna
Victoria: Yes, feel free.
